The Lakeside Mountains are about 60 miles West of Salt Lake City, but feel like a million miles from anywhere. In reality, it’s just a few short miles from the Hill Air Force bomb range. If you climb up to the saddle, on a clear day you can see across the Great Salt Lake all the way to the Wasatch to the East. To the West are the Grassy Mountains. The desert may seem barren and harsh, but the desolation and subtle beauty grow on you if you give it time.
